Spindel II. $800<br /><br />Automotive parts when cut and included in a sculpture will create wonderful visual affects. Independent suspension systems on cars provide wheel spindle assemblies that when disassembled provide beautiful parts for sculpture. Simply cutting a quarter chunk out of a circle creates an entirely new object along with other extended welded objects makes a delightful piece. <br /><br />Dimensions 18`h x 14`w x 7`d

Mad Spindle 1. $1000<br /><br />Three entities or beings that have found themselves together for a brief moment to converse then to travel off again. There is a sense propulsion with respect to each being as if they are from three different places. My impression is that there are two against one and that one would like to escape. <br /><br />A mixture of automotive parts with a wheel spindle cut into pieces connected to stainless steel round stock.<br /><br />Dimensions 24`h x 26`w x 13`d <br />

Grid Screen. $2000<br /><br />The sculpture is made out of recycled metal parts. All parts are steel of all different colors and shape. The grid is concrete reinforcing mesh typically used in roads. The method was to cut out sections and place objects of artistic interest their place. This becomes a delightful exercise in developing negative spaces. <br /><br />Dimensions 72`h x 34`w x 16`d

Framed Man. $2000<br /><br />Simply a steel picture of a walking man or abstract being pressing forward against resistance.<br /><br />The frame can rotate on its base to change the direction of travel and show a slightly different surface appearance on the opposite side. One can remove the frame from its bolted fixture and hang it on the wall or suspend it from above.

Bent Shapes. $700<br /><br />Joining together pieces of sheet metal bent in different ways. All pieces started from the same size flat shape. Piling one shape upon another produces building like sculpture with lines going in many directions.<br /><br />Dimensions 23`h x 16`w x 12`d

Peyote People. $1000<br /><br />Picture a night in the south west desert around a fire where a group is sitting having chewed or chewing peyote cactus into the night. The shaman figure leads the group into another world as it has been done from before the Spanish came to the new world. Swirling minds and bodies revolve around the blazing fire on a cold starry night.

Symbol. There is a sense of early religious construction from the pagan era or early Angelo-Saxon time. The intro to Game of Thrones shows artifacts and architecture with design elements that are in symbol.

Spindel. my favorite first spindle piece

Open wound. $1800<br /><br />Everyone at one point has been wounded in some way where that wound has never closed or healed. There are constant reminders present that keep the wound open preventing closure. The dread is the eternal open wound.<br /><br />Dimension 48`h x 18` x 13`d<br /><br />The sculpture is all partial painted, reclaimed steel pieces with brass or copper brazing applied. Some colorization is the result of acid treatment.

Obstacle. $1800<br /><br />A large enough stone strategically placed will always impede flow or stop travel. The sails want to move things but the stone holds everything in place. Even though the stone is bound, it acts as an anchor. Above are galvanized corrugated sheet steel rising up to carry the sculpture away. Circles and triangles help to provide the sun and a horizon.

Family Tower. $1800<br /><br />A composite of beings, human or otherwise are grouped together in vertical fashion. The profiles are in no particular order but could be interpreted as beginning to present. There is a diversity among the faces as it is wherever you look. The idea of a family of related beings or just those of a like mind.<br /><br />Rusted steel round stock rising in a zigzag design forms the support frame for the many faces. Some faces have brass highlights included around eyes or mouth.

Detroit IV. $2200<br /><br />The inspiration for this Detroit sculpture was acquiring of two long truck leaf springs. Their gentle arc and rounded ends when positioned back to back formed the foundation of this piece. From that point forward it was just a matter of selecting the right additional automotive parts to fill in the blank spaces. I find the spindle Florette pleasing to gaze at as your eye travels over the sculpture.<br /><br />Dimensions 95`h x 46`w x 13`d
